Brutal legend collectibles map1/28/2024 Spamming the Ironheade units versus a group of heavy units guarded by terrain chokepoints will just end badly. You must summon units to attack them, and you can direct them from your viewpoint. This routinely gives you extra fans, unless it is destroyed by your enemy.Īlso, you cannot directly attack towers or the stage as Eddie, or whichever other hero you choose in multiplayer. Your currency for this mode are fans, and you can accumulate more by playing the 'Fan Tribute' solo next to a neutral (green) Fan Geyser, which builds a Merch Stand over the geyser. You have access to more units as you increase the stage level, and you can also upgrade some existing units. There is a tutorial for the RTS in game, but essentially you have to build units to take out the enemy stage. You and your enemy will start at opposite ends of the map, with a level 1 stage. The main battles, especially with bosses and in multiplayer, are all set in a real-time strategy mode. You'll find these upgrades throughout the game at the Motor Forge, which you'll come across in the main story. The upgrades include additional primary and secondary weapons, as well as engine, boost and aesthetic upgrades. If you do them on Brutal difficulty you will find them difficult, but the upgrades they provide are well worth it. The racing in this game is very solid, but the ability to upgrade your car to its maximum potential is tied to the racing challenges. You sometimes have leeway of a note or two depending on the length of the solo, but hitting 100% of the solo will successfully activate it. Hit the correct buttons as the bar reaches them to activate the solo. Once you start the solo by pressing the first highlighted button, the bar will move from left to right. Once a solo is selected, a guitar fretboard will appear on screen, displaying a series of buttons to hit (, , or ). The solos you collect can, on the whole, be played in most places, and are undertaken via a quick time event (QTE). Solos to summon a tower and place a rally flag are equally as useful, but some such as 'Battle Cry' and 'Call of the Wild' are very underpowered considering you can play better, simpler solos with less cooldown time. Solos like the 'Facemelter' or 'Bring It On Home' are particularly useful against larger groups of enemies. Some are much more useful than others, with some sounds powerful, but being a little underwhelming sometimes. Solos are required to unlock some areas, earn some types of collectables, and are also used during battle, both adventuring around the map and in the RTS mode. You also learn guitar solos as you progress through the game. These can be further embellished with upgrades, along with the new moves. As you progress through the game, you'll be able to unlock a variety of combos to give you ranged attacks as well as stronger melee attacks. More often than not, you will be using the shock attack a lot as it's unblockable, damaging and stuns enemies. When your enemies block, you can simply use the electric guitar's shock ability to loosen their guard. Riggs' axe has a lot of interesting combo moves but at the end of the day, you'll only need to hammer the basic attack button combo. Therefore, I'll break each of them down briefly: You'll be hack 'n' slashing, racing, RTSing, QTEing and having an open world exploration for collectibles and other fun areas. This game encompasses many few different playstyles. The other two form your main enemies throughout the game, Tainted Coil and Drowning Doom, each representing a genre of metal music, as you may be able to tell when you meet them (industrial/alternative metal and black/death/doom metal respectively). As Eddie, you'll come to be a part of Ironheade (a faction based around heavy/thrash/power metal and the NWOBHM), which you'll be introduced to over the game. As a start, more for information than anything, there are three main factions in Brutal Legend.
